The first significant intervention in the development of the Faliron Bay seafront came through a national architectural competition for an Olympic-standard sports center on a reclaimed coastal area of approximately 32 hectares near Piraeus, won by TPA. Twenty years later, our team was called to upgrade the Stadium to meet the requirements of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Cultural H.ID.RA.N.T. uses the water route of Hadrian’s Aqueduct as part of the history of the Municipality of Halandri. The reclaimed public space covers a total area of about 15,000 sq.m. With the construction of a 5 km long irrigation network, water becomes the means of highlighting the cultural heritage and leads to the re-utilization of an ancient water infrastructure within the Municipality.
