Thymio Papayannis and Associates Inc. (TPA) in collaboration with Heah & Co have been commissioned to implement the design and construction of two distinctive resort hotels with long leasing housing complexes of 5 stars plus, in an area of approximately 120 acres, on a Cycladic island. The client is a consortium of developers and investors including a leading and internationally well known firm of tourist resorts.
The first development of 35,000 square meters includes 40 furnished houses of 90 square meters each and 34 one and two-storey furnished residences for long leasing of 200 to 400 square meters each. The second development of 30.000 square meters includes 108 furnished residences of 70 square meters and 26 one storey residences of 400 square meters. The project involves considerable landscaping, land remodelling and infrastructure works. The brief also includes central reception buildings with restaurants, bars, swimming pools, specialised spa and sports facilities as well as staff support buildings.
The proposal involves the restoration of the downgraded environment of the immediate surroundings, in a way that will promote the landscape, the unique geomorphology of the island and the proximity to the sea, creating thus, a landscape of high standards. The proposed tourist development is ecologically sensitive and capitalises on the natural characteristics of the area adopting the current international standards of high tourism facilities whilst offering low building density, privacy and uniqueness of experience.
As a luxury tourist development of the highest standard in Europe, the proposed scheme will promote the international acknowledgement of the island and will provide a sustainable and high standard design in a unique location.
